Every Friday, we ask the parents to send in as little as 1p per child. During circle time, we talk to the children about why we give to charity, and helping those less fortunate. Our aim is to teach children:
- To appreciate what we have been given
- To give to the less fortunate
- To be humble and caring
- That giving to others softens the heart and strengthens feelings of empathy

Trip to Malawi - October 2023

May 2022 - Eid ul Fitr
The children at Shukran Nursery were given Eid Gifts with the money we raised at our nursery. |

22nd March 2022
On the 22nd March, The Olive Garden Nursery did a video call with Shukran Nursery where the children interacted with each other. They have bought chairs, tables and uniforms for the children with the money raised.

This amount included some monies collected from staff and their families.

20th January 2022 First contact made via WhatApp video call with Shukran Nursery in Malawi, Alhamdulillah. We showed them around our nursery and we saw theirs in the video call. |

November 2021 With the Sadaqah money raised, resources such as books, jigsaws, role play, stationary etc was bought to support the children's learning. This was all shipped to Malawi. |
In June 2021, management decided to support a nursery in Malawi called Shukran Nursery. These children are all orphans. Our aim is to teach our children, at The Olive Garden Nursery, a wider awareness of the world around them and the differences of nursery life for the less fortunate.
