Early Years Foundation Stage
At Olive Garden Nursery we aim to provide a happy, secure environment where play is encouraged to foster learning. Play occurs in a well-planned learning environment both indoors and outdoors following the interests of individual children.
Our nursery is guided by the Early Years Foundation Stage framework.

Communication and Language Journey- The Early Communication and Language Pathway describes the assessment tools, interventions and actions to support children at each age and stage of the Greater Manchester Early Years Delivery Model.
Number Journey- Supports the teaching and learning of number sense for children under five. Children will learn more about: Number language; 5 counting principles; Problem solving; Graphical mark-making and representations; and Number sense milestones. Download here number_language_booklet.pdf
Nursery Narrative- Provides a complete set of lessons plans to develop children speaking and listening skills through narrative. The Narrative framework of ‘Who’ ‘Where’ ‘When’ and ‘What happened next’ is introduced through a variety of attractive and highly visual resources.
Language Steps- A language resource aimed to develop both comprehension and expression in spoken language. Focusing on early language skills from a One to Four word level

Wellcomm- WellComm is a tookit designed to help early years settings identify children from six months to six years old who might be experiencing delays with speech and language. It can then help put immediate interventions into place
