About Us

At The Olive Garden Nursery, we believe, play is the way in which young children find out about their world and acquire, practice and refine their emerging skills.

Play occurs naturally in children, so through their play children develop physical, intellectual, social and emotional skills and concepts.

Adults can use children’s eagerness to play, to create an effective learning environment.  A well planned rich and stimulating play environment will provide opportunities for children to explore the world and adapt and refine their understanding of it.

What we do
·       Provide high quality care and free education for children aged 2-4 years.
·       Work in partnership with parents to help children to learn and develop,
·       Add to the life and well being of the local community, and
·       Offer children and their parents a service that promotes equality and values diversity.
·       Teach our children manners, morals and Islamic etiquettes and supplications
·       Our aim is that our high standards are never compromised

Key Person
We operate a key person system, which means that a named member of staff will be assigned to the child.  This member of staff will provide continuity throughout your child’s stay at nursery where they will be responsible for your child’s needs and development and can be approached on a daily basis.  The key person will work alongside your child, individually, in small groups as well as part of the whole group and will make observations on the child to build up a portfolio of development which will include your child’s interests and needs. They will also be the person who will settle your child into the nursery and will be responsible for making observation, assessments and talking to parents on parent day

Inclusion
Through communicating with staff, parents, and other agencies we aim to achieve inclusion for each child by meeting the necessary requirements and providing the resources to ensure children can meet their full potential. The nursery has a named SENCO Officer who will liaise with the family and outside agencies to co-ordinate the provision of special educational needs and offer support to the key person working alongside the child

Additional Needs

The nursery is dedicated to the inclusion of all children, including those with additional needs, staff work closely with parents to plan the provision for those children to enable them to reach their full potential.  We have a designated SENCO officer who works with the children and parents and liaises with outside agencies.

Safeguarding Children
Here at Olive Garden our main concern is the welfare and needs of all the children in our care and we are committed to safeguarding and promoting their welfare.  If any member of staff suspects any form of abuse has taken place, or a child makes a disclosure of abuse, then the staff member will inform the nursery nominated safeguarding officer. The manager will follow nursery safeguarding policies and procedure. Confidentiality will remain throughout. Staff will be informed, when appropriate, on a need to know basis.
